The abolition of negative gearing will affect all Australians. Economists agree that it will trigger a fall in property prices affecting home owners and investors alike but will also affect those most vulnerable – renters. The last time Politicians messed around with this in the 1980’s it caused a hike in rents and slowing of the property market. Not surprisingly it was quickly reinstated.
